Institute of Kidney Diseases & Kidney Transplant Centre at Jaipur Golden Hospital, Delhi is one of the leading RENAL CENTERS in New Delhi. It is a close unit with state-of-art Dialysis & transplant unit which include highly SPECIALIZED & DEDICATED team of Nephrologists, Kidney Transplant Surgeon, General Surgeons & Urologist.
The Department manages both acute and chronic renal failure with peritoneal dialysis and haemodialysis with ultrafiltration. It has an active Renal Transplant Programme with the results at par to the best of international standards.
We Takes Care Of Patients With:
CRITICAL CARE NEPHROLOGY
The department of Nephrology is a major participant in intensive care. Much of the ICU patients is related and acute renal failures following Polytrauma, Multiorgan failure of any origin etc.
We provide care to ICU patients with Acute Renal Failure, Volume disturbances or electrolyte, Acid base disorder, Dialysis for patients undergoing cardiac or orthopaedic procedures.
DIALYSIS & KIDNEY TRANSPLANTS
Common diseases like DIABETES, HYPERTENSION and CHRONIC GLOMERULO-NEPHRITIS can lead to permanent LOSS OF RENAL FUNCTIONS - with dialysis and renal transplantation being the frequent outcome.
Haemodialysis Department has a most modern, state-of-the art haemodialysis unit, equipped with 10 haemodialysis machines. Separate facility for dialysis of HBsAg and HCV positive patients in isolation available. The unit runs 3 shifts in a day with facility of emergency dialysis round-the- clock
We have state-of-the-art Dialysis Unit with excellent conventional HEMODIALYSIS where continuous MONITORING of sick patients on dialysis is done throughout the dialytic procedure with the help of a highly specialized monitors. The department also has the latest computerized bicarbonate Haemodialysis machines with volumetric ultra-filtration and adjustable sodium facility to ensure patient safety.
We provide regular dialysis services from 7.00 am to 9.00 pm (3 shifts). More than 12000 Haemodialysis are performed in one year. Since its inception this institute has performed around 47,000 dialysis. The dialysis unit also provides a private room for patients who want to get dialyzed in private/isolation.
Which kind of dialysis to have?
To make an informed choice, patient needs to learn something about the different kinds of dialysis.
There are two different kinds of dialysis -
Peritoneal dialysis is another procedure that removes extra water, wastes, and chemicals from patient's body. This type of dialysis uses the lining of patient's abdomen to filter his blood. This lining is called the peritoneal membrane and acts as the artificial Kidney. With this method, instead of being cleaned by an artificial membrane outside the body, the blood is cleaned inside the body, through the Peritoneum.
The Department is engaged in live related Renal Transplantation since 2001 at Jaipur Golden Hospital. The results of Renal Transplantation at our centre are equivalent to the best of international standards.
A state-of-the-art Transplant unit for immediate post-transplant cases and subsequent management has been specially built.
The department is one of the leading, especially designed state-of- the-art renal transplant & Immunology centres in New Delhi & has been built for immediate post-transplant care and subsequently managed with dedicated trained nurses, assigned to look after every patient to provide the best Kidney Transplant programme. The unit has experience in handling transplants and problems arising from them, for over many years.
What is Kidney/Renal Transplantation?
Kidney transplantation is a surgical operation in which the surgeon places a healthy Kidney from another person into patient's body. Those patients who are suffering from chronic Kidney failure, or end-stage renal disease (ESRD) opt for this surgery. The donated kidney does the work that patient's two failed kidneys used to do.
It is important to note that the donor must be a close relative or family member in a Kidney Transplant Surgery. The Renal Transplant Team determines the suitability of the donor for the donation after studying the various aspects and performing a series of medical tests.
A comprehensive physical evaluation is done on the patient. To evaluate their suitability for donation Living Kidney donors also undergo a complete medical history and physical examination.
A successful Kidney transplant can improve the quality of life of the patient drastically for a patient suffering with chronic Kidney failure or end stage renal disease. After the Kidney transplantation the patient need not be dependent on dialysis.
